Year 2 is where your child builds the number sense that every later maths topic depends on. Our structured programme makes numbers feel natural through hands-on learning, visual aids and everyday examples, like $1 and $2 coins.
Key Topics Covered:
Place value to 100 and a first look at 200, addition and subtraction strategies, equal groups and arrays, time and NZ money, measuring in centimetres and metres, shapes, patterns and coding, halves and quarters, and graphs.
Parent Tip:
At this age, confidence matters more than speed. Try counting a jar of $1 and $2 coins together at the kitchen table. We make sure each idea clicks before moving on.
