Year 8 is the bridge from arithmetic to formal algebra. Our structured programme builds rational numbers, linear relations, Pythagoras and geometric reasoning with real NZ examples, like time zones and sale prices.
Key Topics Covered:
Rational and irrational numbers, exponent laws, percentages and NZ money, linear expressions and equations, linear relations, area and volume, circles, time zones, rates and ratios, Pythagoras, congruence, sampling and probability.
Parent Tip:
Year 8 is a major algebra foundation year. Confidence with linear equations, gradient and Pythagoras now makes Year 9 maths far easier. We make sure each idea clicks before moving on.
