Year 2 is where children turn early skills into confident reading, writing, number sense and curiosity. Our structured programme builds all three through hands-on activities, visual aids and familiar Kiwi examples, from $1 and $2 coins to the backyard.
Key Topics Covered:
- Maths: place value to 100, add and subtract, arrays, time, NZ money and shapes.
- English: phonics, fluent reading, and narrative and informative writing.
- Science: animal life cycles, solids and liquids, water and air, and simple machines.
Parent Tip:
Little and often works best at this age. Read together for ten minutes, count a jar of $1 and $2 coins and ask what your child noticed outside. We make sure each idea clicks before moving on.
