Year 7 science is where your child connects ideas across ecosystems, matter, machines and Earth. Our programme explores them through hands-on investigations and examples from Aotearoa, like predator-free sanctuaries and the Alpine Fault.
Key Topics Covered:
Ecosystems and food webs, introduced pests, mixtures and solutions, levers and gears, the design process, heat transfer, climate, plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes, and fair test skills.
Parent Tip:
Make a simple solution, like salt in water, and talk about where the salt goes, or look at a map of NZ's volcanoes together. Curiosity is the foundation of science learning.
