Year 7 English is where students learn to analyse texts and defend their ideas. Our programme builds essay writing, critical reading and grammar in an encouraging space, ready for Year 8 and high school.
Key Topics Covered:
Roots and academic vocabulary, critical reading of novels and nonfiction, grammar and NZ spelling, narrative, informational and persuasive essays, poetry, drama, media literacy and debate.
Parent Tip:
Read the same article or chapter as your child and ask what the author is not saying. Our tutors suggest books at your child's level, including picks from your local library.
