The OSSLT is part of the Ontario graduation requirement. Results are reported as successful or not yet successful.

Is the OSSLT needed to graduate?

The OSSLT, or the literacy course, is one of the requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Check with your school for how it applies to your child.

Is the OSSLT online?

Yes. The OSSLT is taken online, so on-screen practice helps.

When should we start preparing?

A couple of months before the test window is a good start, with a little practice each week.

What if my child is not successful?

Students can write the test again, or take the literacy course. Talk to your school's guidance counsellor.

How will I know if my child is improving?

Regular quiz results and parent reports show progress skill by skill.
